New Horizons Community Garden

New Horizons Community Garden is a organic community garden in Mt Roskill dedicated to building a healthy community and environment and promoting sustainable living.
The aim of this project is to promote the cultural richness of food, plants and people within our community garden to the migrant and refugee communities. This is done through workshops and trainings on how to grow food. This also utilise knowledge and skills of farming and in turn gain knowledge and skills specific to gardening in New Zealand. By utilising these skills, migrant and refugee communities are able to engage in meaningful labour which is an important contribution to their health and wellbeing. We aim to empower migrant and refugee communities so they are socialize and build a support system that can be utilized in the future.

How to get involved:
There are many ways you can contribute towards New Horizon. You can volunteer in the gardens and help out with planting. If you have a special skill like a trade, let us know. There is always plenty of work to do. You can also donate, or simply stop by and enjoy the gardens.
